Stars and Flags 1st Place Book Award for the Twins Platoon in 2011

Marine Wing Support Squadron-471 recognition Award in 2006

This annual event marks the founding of the Marine Corps. The guest of honor is prestigious position and is given the first slice of the birthday cake as part of the cake cutting ceremony. 

 

Book "Counting on Death" 

The author Christy Sauro Jr. endorsed the book "Counting on Death" by Josh Shores in 2025.  Both authros are Marines who share a common bond. Clciking on the photo will take you the book on Amazon.

Book "Go West!"

Sauro and Sideth met by chance and became friends, through sharing their historical experiences. Sideth lived his childhood years in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge. Major General James Livingston (USMC Ret.) was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions in combat during the Vietnam War. The book details his remarkable life and military career. The Sketch "Anguish"

The remarkable story behind the sketch "Anguish" drawn by Twins Platoon member Bruce Sommer is written about in the book. Bruce's now famous sketch reveals the feelings of anguish most Vietnam Veterans experienced after serving their country.
